For Students, Parents & Guardians

The rules, and the guidelines behind them

These are the regulations framed by the school, reproduced in full and in the order in which they apply. They are short by design. Most of them exist because something went wrong once, and the school decided not to let it happen twice.

  1. Attendance

Maintaining 95% attendance is mandatory for every student.

  2. Pick-up and drop-off

Parents must pick up and drop off their children as the school doesn’t offer a transportation facility. Students can bring bicycles. Gearless two-wheelers are allowed for girl students provided they have a driving licence. Bringing a four-wheeler will result in the vehicle’s confiscation.

  3. Punctuality

Latecomer students will not be allowed to enter the school. They may also be sent back to their homes.

  4. Leave and absence

In case of serious sickness, parents should submit the leave application along with a medical certificate, duly sanctioned by the Principal, to the class in-charge. A student who is absent continuously for more than 7 days from the school without sanction of leave will have their name struck off. Absenteeism of students during exams will not be accepted at all.

  5. The school diary

Each student will receive a diary to note their assignments. It must be checked and signed by parents daily. It is mandatory for students to bring their diary to school daily.

  6. Homework

If a student does not complete their homework regularly, a note will be given in their diary. One mark per note will be deducted in the terminal examination.

  7. Parent–Teacher Meetings

Attending Parent-Teacher Meetings (P.T.M.) is mandatory for parents. Only parents are allowed to view or sign the report card of their ward.

  8. Leaving the premises

Students and teachers will not leave the school premises without the permission of the Principal. Breaching this rule may lead to suspension.

  9. Change of details

Parents must inform the class in-charge in case of any change in contact number or home address.

  10. Vigilance at home

Parents must be vigilant regarding the company of their ward. They must check the bags of their wards from time to time. Parents must communicate with their wards to guide them properly.

  11. Conduct towards faculty

Misconduct of guardians with school faculty will not be accepted at any cost. Consequently, the ward may be suspended from the school, or their admission to the next class may be denied.

  12. Entry to the school

In case of an emergency, only parents, after obtaining permission from the Principal, are allowed to enter the school to discuss the matter with the school authorities. They will have to display their ID card at the school gate and register their entry.

  13. Uniform

Students must come to school in proper school uniform. See uniform and grooming for the full detail.

  14. Prohibited items

Bringing mobile phones, iPads, smartwatches, or indulging in any objectionable activity like smoking is strictly prohibited. A mobile phone, once confiscated, will not be returned, and the defaulter student will have to pay a fine as well.

  15. Care of property

It is everyone’s responsibility to care for the school furniture and infrastructure. In case of damage, the defaulter will be charged compensation.

  16. Reputation of the school

Any student or staff member found tarnishing the image of the school will be expelled.

Note Teachers, students and parents will have to abide by all the rules and regulations framed by the school. In case of any complaint, parents can meet the class in-charges; if their problem is not resolved, they may approach the Principal after taking an appointment.

  1. Home and school, together

A close understanding between a child’s home and school enables them to find happiness and meaning in education.

  2. When you may meet a teacher

Parents and guardians are not allowed to meet the class teacher in classes except on scheduled P.T.A. meetings and fee deposit timings.

  3. Attending the P.T.M.

Attending the Parent-Teacher Meeting is a must for parents. Only parents are allowed to sign the report cards of the students. Brothers or sisters are not allowed to see the ward’s result in any case.

  4. Test reports

Reports of monthly and terminal tests must be signed by the parents and returned to the teacher in-charge afterwards.

  5. Continuous failure

If a student continuously fails in monthly and terminal tests, they will be expelled from the school.

  6. Don’t encourage leave

Only in case of serious sickness will leave be granted, and it must be requested by parents, not by other kith and kin.

  7. Absence thresholds

A student who is absent for more than 6 days (for boys) or 8 days (for girls) continuously will have their name struck off.

  8. Read the diary

Read your ward’s school diary carefully and put your signatures on it.

  9. Punctuality and neatness

Send your ward to school punctually, in a neat and clean uniform with polished shoes.

  10. Vehicles

Don’t allow your ward to bring bikes, scooters or four-wheelers. Gearless two-wheelers are allowed for girls only, provided they possess a learner’s licence.

  11. Expensive material

Students are strictly prohibited from bringing cell phones, iPods, cameras or any other expensive material to school. If such items are found with students, they will be confiscated and will not be returned.

  12. Friends and company

Parents should keep a watchful eye on the friends and society of their ward. They should occasionally check their ward’s bag and communicate with them to guide them through their teenage years in a proper way.

  13. The atmosphere at home

Keep the atmosphere at home positive for the healthy emotional and psychological development of your ward.

  14. Separate transport

Parents are to hire different vans and autos for their sons and daughters. No boy will be allowed in the vans or autos meant for girls.

  15. Strikes of transport

School authorities are not responsible for any kind of strike by van-wallahs or auto-wallahs. Parents should make their own arrangements in case of a strike. Leave applications will not be sanctioned in case of an auto strike.

If You Have a Concern

The order the school asks you to follow

Almost every difficulty a family faces can be settled at the first step, if the first step is taken.

01

Class in-charge

Speak with the class in-charge about the day-to-day matter. Most things are resolved here, and this is the person who sees your child every morning.

02

Scheduled meetings

For anything longer, wait for the Parent–Teacher Meeting rather than arriving at the classroom door.

03

Principal, by appointment

If the problem is unresolved, take an appointment with the Principal through the school office.

04

Emergency entry

In an emergency, obtain permission from the Principal, carry ID, and register your entry at the gate.

A word of caution Misconduct of guardians with school faculty will not be accepted at any cost. Consequently, the ward may be suspended from the school, or admission to the next class may be denied. Firmness at school is meant for the children, not for the adults who bring them.
