Institutional Honours

These were awarded to the institution, by the board that examines its students and by an organisation working at national level.

Punjab State Education Board · 1984–85

Best School of the State

The Punjab State Education Board declared R.S. Model Senior Secondary School the Best School of the State for the session 1984–85. For a school that had been teaching for thirty-three years and still ran on the founding Sanskrit principle, this was the central milestone of its first four decades.

In 2013, an all-India organisation named School Summit placed the school among the Best 100 Schools of India — the second time in the school’s history that a distinction reached beyond Punjab.

Golden Jubilee

50 years of the school

The Golden Jubilee Celebration marked five decades of academic excellence, cultural vibrancy and holistic development — a full gathering of alumni, faculty and students, honouring the past while looking to what came next.

Results

How academic results are produced and published

The school’s examination structure is fixed, and the same routine applies every session. Knowing it is useful for any parent who wants to understand the result rather than just read it.

Monthly tests

Held through the session, with the report going home for a parent’s signature and return to the class teacher. Reports that are not returned are not on record as seen.

Terminal examination

The terminal examination is the examination for the session. Homework notes recorded in the diary count against it — one mark is deducted for every note.

Parent–Teacher Meetings

Attendance at the P.T.M. is mandatory, and only a parent may view or sign the report card. The meeting is where a single mark and a single term’s effort are discussed together.

Class toppers & Punjab rank-holders

The names of class toppers and of students who hold a rank in the Punjab board examinations are declared by the school after each examination cycle. They are displayed on the school noticeboard and released through the office, and the previous session’s list can be obtained from the school office on request.

This page does not publish individual student results. Results are the school’s to declare, and the school declares them through the office rather than through a website.

Good to know

  • Report cards are signed by a parent only — brothers and sisters are not permitted to collect them.
  • A student who continuously fails the monthly and terminal tests is expelled, so the term’s work is read as it happens.
  • Absenteeism during the examination period is not accepted at all.
  • The class in-charge holds the signed reports and is the first point of contact for any result query.

Co-curricular Record

Beyond the classroom

The school’s record outside the examination hall is built through its events. These are the programmes documented in the school’s own gallery and news bulletins.

Athletic development and sports facilities at the school

Athletic Development

Sport

Athletic development is listed among the school’s four headline strengths, supported by sports amenities and by regular participation.

Events

Talent Expo, Gurpurab celebration and the school’s annual functions give every class a stage and a subject outside the syllabus.

Sports

Athletic development is one of the four areas the school names as its own strengths, alongside education, Sanskrit and Vedic culture.

Culture

Founded to inculcate Vedic culture among future citizens of India, and still doing so — in Sanskrit and in the mother tongue, together.

Service

Community and social activity sit alongside the academic record; the school lists community service among its salient features.
